Counsel’s fees – independent children’s lawyer
The table below shows fees payable to counsel in the Family Court and Federal Magistrates Court. This fee schedule is effective from 1 August 2012. For fee schedules prior to 1 August 2012, see Archived versions of the Handbook.

Counsel’s fees are only payable at Stages 1(c) and 2 otherwise counsel’s fees are to be paid out of the lump sum. Counsel’s fees are not payable where a matter is in the list but not reached.
Conference fees are not payable in Stage 1(c) matters.
Practitioners can claim these fees using ATLAS+ or submitting a tax invoice.
