Table V – Social security reviews and appeals

Separate lump sum preparation and appearance fees are provided for first review stage (Social Services and Child Support Division) and second review stage (General Division) at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). A discrete grant of assistance is required for each stage.

The lump sum preparation fees in these tables include:

  • taking instructions
  • making FOI requests
  • reading all material
  • obtaining any necessary medical or other report
  • taking instructions from witnesses
  • drafting submission
  • reading decision and advising client.

These fees are effective from 1 January this year. For fees payable prior to this see Archived versions of the Handbook.

First stage AAT review (SSCS Division)
