Guideline 14 – drought legal assistance package
VLA will make a grant of legal assistance to any person affected by drought conditions in respect of any financial, contractual, commercial, loan refinancing or any other allied issue arising out of the drought.
Assistance will be first provided for legal advice. In the event that the advice recommends further action VLA may make a grant of legal assistance for such further action.
Documentary requirements
Applications under this guideline can only be submitted via the standard grants assessment process.
A member of the section 29A practitioner panel or section 30 referral panel or other person seeking a grant of legal assistance should forward the following documents for assessment:
- a completed VLA application form
- a copy of any documentation relating to financial, contractual, commercial, loan refinancing or any other allied issue arising out of the drought
- relevant proof of means.
