Guideline 13 – assistance after final court orders are made
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) may make a grant of legal assistance for:
- an application to discharge or vary parenting orders or registered parenting plans (also see Guideline 4 – assistance for applications to discharge or vary parenting arrangements)
- an application for a recovery order, a location order and/or information order (also see Guideline 11 – recovery, location and information orders)
- an appeal (see also Guideline 14 – appeals)
- variation of a child maintenance, spousal maintenance or child support order (also see Guideline 6 – child support and child maintenance and Guideline 7 – spousal maintenance)
- an application for contravention or enforcement of court orders (also see Guideline 15 – contravention and enforcement of court orders and contempt of court)
- ongoing work by an independent children's lawyer in exceptional circumstances where it is necessary for the implementation of orders.
VLA will not make a grant of legal assistance unless one of the above applies.
