Counsel’s fees – independent children’s lawyer
The table below shows fees payable to counsel in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court. This fee schedule is effective from 1 January 2015. For fee schedules prior to 1 January 2015, see Archived versions of the Handbook.

Counsel’s fees are only payable at Stages 1(c) and 2 (where appropriate*), otherwise counsel’s fees are to be paid out of the lump sum. Counsel’s fees are not payable where a matter is in the list but not reached.
Conference fees are not payable in Stage 1(c) matters.
Practitioners must claim all fees online using ATLAS.
* Where one of the exceptions in Guideline 5.1 are met.
