Table D2 – Lump sum fees for preparation for plea or trial in the County Court prior to 18 January 2011

Table D2 sets out the fees payable by VLA for preparing for a plea or trial in the County Court.

These fees are claimed using the County Court plea – tables D2 and D3 tax invoice.

Preparation of necessary responses
This fee is payable once only in a matter.

Printing of depositions from disk if:
  • printing is necessary
    and
  • there are more than 2000 pages to print.
VLA will only pay for pages in excess of 2000. The lawyer must obtain approval in advance from VLA.
10 cents per page or at commercial rates, whichever is less.
Discontinuing a prosecution $431
Examination of victims, special or protected witnesses pursuant to Crimes (Sexual Offences) Act 2006 or Evidence Act 1958: brief fee $1240
Examination of victims, special or protected witnesses pursuant to Crimes (Sexual Offences) Act 2006 or Evidence Act 1958: appearance on second and subsequent days $845 per day or part day
Examination of Victims, Special or Protected Witnesses pursuant to Crimes (Sexual Offences) Act 2006 or Evidence Act 1958: hourly conference fee (to maximum of $720) $144

  • taking instructions
  • perusing material
  • advising the assisted person.
