Table LL – Appeal by convicted person against either sentence or conviction, or sentence and conviction in the Court of Appeal prior to 18 January 2011

Table LL sets out the fees payable by VLA for an appeal to the Court of Appeal by a convicted person.

The convicted person may be appealing against:

  • their sentence
  • their conviction
  • their conviction and sentence.

These fees are claimed using the Court of Appeal – Table LL tax invoice.

The lump sum fee preparation covers the work involved in:
  • obtaining instructions
  • preparing any necessary documentation
  • correspondence
  • perusing documents.
The lump sum fee does not cover:
  • work by the lawyer in instructing counsel
  • conferences with counsel.

Additional fees

VLA will also pay additional fees:

  • as set out in Table LL
  • for fees for additional preparation by counsel in accordance with Table ZZ.

VLA will not pay:

  • for lawyer to instruct
  • for conferences with counsel.
