Table KK – Lump sum and other fees for criminal trials in the Supreme Court prior to 18 January 2011
If VLA has previously made a grant of assistance in accordance with Table HH for the preparation for a plea or trial in the Supreme Court, then VLA will also pay a lump sum fee for a criminal trial in the Supreme Court in accordance with Table KK below.
These fees are claimed using the Supreme Court criminal trial – tables HH and KK tax invoice.

Additional fees
VLA will allow additional claims:
- as set in Table KK
- for fees for additional preparation by counsel (subject to the cost ceiling and with VLA’s advance approval) in accordance with Fee Schedule 4
- for circuit fees (if the lawyer advocate or counsel does not practice in the circuit town) in accordance with Table RR of Fee Schedule 4
- for ‘out of office’ fees if the instructing lawyer does not practice in the circuit town or if a lawyer who practices in a circuit town has a matter in Melbourne:
- in accordance with the first day circuit fee in Table EE
- the overnight fee set out in Table EE for each necessary overnight stay in the circuit town.
