Table GG – Lump sum fees for all criminal trials in the County Court prior to 18 January 2011
If VLA has made a grant of assistance in accordance with Table D2 (that is, for the preparation for plea or trial in the County Court), then VLA will also pay a lump sum fee for a criminal trial in the County Court, in accordance with Table G, below.
These fees are claimed using the County Court criminal trial – tables D2 and GG tax invoice.

Additional fees
VLA will allow additional claims:
- as set out in Table G
- for fees for additional preparation by counsel (subject to the cost ceiling and with VLA’s advance approval)
- for circuit fees (if the lawyer advocate or counsel does not practice in the circuit town) in accordance with Table RR of Fee Schedule 4
- for ‘out of office’ fees if the instructing lawyer does not practice in the circuit town or if a lawyer who practices in a circuit town has a matter in Melbourne:
- in accordance with the first day circuit fee in Table EE
and - the overnight fee set out in Table EE for each necessary overnight stay in the circuit town.
